St. Chad's Catholic Primary School, Catholic Lane, Sedgley, Dudley

Introduction

St. Chad's Catholic Primary School is situated in Sedgley, which is at the northern tip of Dudley Borough and just three miles south of the centre of Wolverhampton in the Black Country. It is convenient for public transport and access.

St. Chad's serves two Catholic parishes: the adjoining St. Chad's and All Saints, and St. Peter's and the English Martyrs, Lower Gornal. We also welcome applications from children of any faith to join our caring and committed community.

Our dedicated staff work together to create a happy, caring and safe environment, to enable all children to reach their full potential. We provide our children with a broad and balanced curriculum, which challenges every child from the most able to those with special needs. We give our pupils skills which they will be able to use throughout their school life and beyond – academic skills, as well as the skills to be responsible, tolerant, caring citizens with an understanding of the wider world and our role in sustaining its resources.

The quality of teaching and learning is consistently reviewed in order to maintain the existing high standards achieved by our school.

Children learn in a friendly atmosphere the values of respect for themselves and others, self-discipline and co-operation. We work to develop our children's knowledge and understanding of our Christian faith, teaching them to relate these values to their everyday life. We also celebrate the cultural diversity of those pupils who are not of the Catholic faith to encourage an understanding and respect for others.

In September 2013 St. Chad's became a 'converter academy' with two other local Catholic schools: Bishop Milner Catholic College and St. Joseph's Dudley. While we maintain our own identity, together we are known as St. John Bosco Catholic Multi Academy Company.
