Event - Years 5 and 6 Visit Carding Mill Valley
29 February 2016
On Monday 29th February, Year 5 and Year 6 visited Carding Mill Valley. This was part of our Learning Journey topic of ‘River Deep, Mountain High’.
During the visit the children worked in small groups with volunteers from the National Trust to complete a river study. As part of this groups children: measured out a section of river; then measured the width and depth of the river as well as the speed at which the water was travelling.
After lunch the children went on walk around the valley and identified features of rivers and mountains that were visible.
It was a cold day but every wrapped up warm. |
