Prayers
Prayers are very important to our school community.
Please look at our School Prayer Book to help your children learn the prayers we use regularly in St. Chad's:
Our School Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help me to be the person you call me to be today.
Guide me to do the right thing and follow our school values
in all that I do.
Saint Chad, pray for us.
Saint John Bosco, pray for us.
Amen
Prayer Room
Prayer is a central part of school life at St Chad’s. Our beautiful prayer room is a space where all children and staff get the opportunity to reflect and have quiet time to talk to God.
The prayer room is used for:
- Weekly reflections during Lent and Advent. Children are also invited to the prayer room in October and May for lunchtime decades of the Rosary.
- A quiet, calm, reflective space for children who sometimes need a bit of space away from the classroom or playground to pray to God.
Pupils are given the opportunity to pray using different purposes of prayer: showing love to God; giving thanks; saying sorry and asking for help.
“Prayer is, first and foremost dialogue, a personal relationship with God” – Pope Francis
