Event - Years 5 and 6 at Cannock Chase Museum

On 22nd October Year 5 and 6 went to the Cannock Chase Museum for a World War 2 experience.

We learnt so much about the new topic we will be studying in school this half-term. We learnt how World War 2 started and the key people involved, we learnt what it was like to live through war – we even experienced a real air-raid! 

We looked at what a typical 1940’s living room looked like and learnt about rationing. We all took part in a drama workshop to develop our understanding what it was like to be an evacuee during the war.

We had a great day and learn a lot as well.

The drama was about evacuees.		The evacuees travelled by steam train.
We found about about how evacuees were sometimes treated.		We learnt about rationing.
The guide explained about living during the war years.		Year 5 acted out a war time meal time.
